2.1. Install a car
Install a car is really simple, you need just to extract the car files in racer subfolder <racer_install_foler>\data\cars\<car_name>\.
Now you can select the car in Racer.

If you put the file on another location, it will not work.

.exe : self-extractable archive/installer (windows only)
.zip : you will need
winzip to extract data
.ace : you will nedd winace or winrar to extract data

2.2. Why does <car name> handle so badly?
In each car folder there's a plain text "car.ini" file. This defines the handling and performance of the car - things like weight, gear ratios, suspension settings, tyre coefficients and so on. Recent changes to the way Racer reads this file mean that some cars no longer handle as originally intended, and you may have to do some tweaking in the .ini file to adjust performance to your liking!

2.3. Car don't work on Racer v0.5 beta 6 and above
Since Racer 0.5 beta 6, Racer check for compatibility reason the car version.
Cars need some change in car.ini to work:
http://www.racer.nl/reference/changes.htm

Majority of car creator should release a new car.ini for beta 6, but, until then you can try to edit the car.ini yourself!

2.5. How extract/decrypt .ar files ? I want modify/convert/render a car...
.AR file is an encrypted archive that containt .dof files.
The purpose of the .ar format is to keep the 3D mesh from the hands of people that don't have the right to them.
You can't convert it to another format.
If you really want the dofs, your can try to email the author and ask politely for them.
