modify the racer.ini file with this racer.txt or download my full racer.ini
modify the gfx.ini file with this gfx.txt or download my full gfx.ini
Know bug in current version:
The dynamic shadow switch from black to transparent
Half working breaklight (something with the car.shd)
If you have problem with the "glowing" road, copy all the file from .../carlswood_nt/env to .../carlswood_nt
Racer v0.5.2 beta 3 released

This version include:
- Collision detection (flying into space) seems gone
- Some basic AI racing (this cries out for lots of features, but it's just basic racing against other driving cars)
- Much improved multiplayer prediction provided you have LAN and good framerates
- Stabilized FPS counter
- Track steer/road noise (force feedback)
- Graphics engine fixes & lots of other fixes

Download problem status: Our provider is still working for a solution, but not as fast as we expected...
Site was down again.... and local download blocked!

This time, despite the limit in number of simultaneous file download, a user has downloaded 3 files with 30 connections to each! (more than 90 connections for 1 user!)
There is no local download yet! We are working with our provider and hope local download will be back next week.

- You need to wait 15 seconds between 2 downloads
- Maximum 5 downloads in 10 minutes This limitation is by IP adress
This should not disturb you to much, but avoid automatic whole site download...

Posted by pws on 2003-08-01 Our site was blocked by our Provider because some people abused and download the whole site massively.
All local download are not available yet, and will back when a download limiter will be in place (maximum x download in x minutes). This limit will not disturb normal user but block whole site download!
I hope local download will be back in 24-48 hours.
Car's archive online

You can still download, vote and add comments to archived cars but you don't see the car in the main index list.
We can move back a car from the archive to the current list when a car.ini is available for it.
Authors please try to do a new full archive with the update car.ini.

They will have this logo displayed near the name.

Racer-Xtreme 1 year anniversary
Posted by pws on 2003-06-12 The site was launched last year on 12th june. Since we added a lot of feature and contents. During this year Racer-Xtreme web site served:
- more than 5.7 millions pages (or 16.6 millions hits)
- 500'000 vistors
- transfered 286GB of data
The S2000 was download 30'000 times !
We will release this coming week some anniversary "gift".
So don't forget to check the site!
